Aliens and supernatural creatures. They just can’t stop invading Earth. Attracted by our endless supplies of whiny middle-class teenagers and jingoistic military personnel, they come in waves every year. Yet in The Darkest Hour, attempts to destroy New York and Los Angeles have clearly been thwarted one too many times, and Moscow seems to be first cab off the rank this time.
Directed by Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door) and produced by Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Wanted), it is set to star Olivia Thirlby and Emile Hirsch.
It does have some very cool electricity-based sequences, and the invisibility of the creatures seems to ensure a certain level of suspense, so this just may be one to watch out for when it hits cinemas early next year.
