You can file this under the “Sequels that Nobody Wanted” category if you like, but there is something purely fun about the Harold & Kumar series. While the sequel missed the mark with its attempts at political satire in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, the original Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle is disarmingly funny.
Returning to their roots (sort of) with this holiday special, it marks the first time the pair have been seen in 3D. The film sees Harold (John Cho, Star Trek) and Kumar (Kal Penn, TV’s House) inadvertently burn down a Christmas tree and shoot down Santa in their quest for Yuletide spirit. We must admit to having a tiny bit of a guilty interest in this one. After all, Christmas needs saving at least once a year, right?
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas 3D is due out in the US on 4 November 2011. No Australian release date has been set.
