We may have had a longer wait for Winnie the Pooh than the US, but with Australian school holidays just around the corner, expect a honey pot full of kids films to emerge. One of the most anticipated films here at The Reel Bits, Winnie the Pooh is the latest in a long line of animated vignettes from Disney featuring the bear of very little brain.
Disney has sent over the Australian trailer for the film, and we are very excited indeed. Let’s hope that 2D theatrical short, The Ballad of Nessie, also gets some screen time here in Australia!

Winnie the Pooh is released on 1 September 2011 in Australia from Walt Disney Studios Australia and New Zealand..
Do you know what has happened to this movie? I’ve gotten release dates from the 15th of July to the 22nd of September, with no info on any cinema websites. Very weird.
Yeah, it got a very limited release. In Sydney, for example, it was only playing at Reading Cinemas and then disappeared. It will be coming out on DVD and Blu-ray in Australia on October 5 – exclusive to Big W! I wonder if they want anybody to see it at all. 🙂 It will also be available on iTunes apparently.
