Disney has announced via a release schedule that The Avengers will be released in Australia on 25 April 2012. This puts it over a week ahead of the US release date of 4 May 2012.
The move is not an unprecedented one, with this year’s Thor released in Australia by Paramount two weeks prior to the US release. In that case, we also got the deluxe World Premiere treatment and full press junket with the stars. However, Roadshow Film’s Green Lantern was famously released several months after the US screenings.
