Put to bed rumours of an Arrested Development film. That’s because the short-lived, cult-favourite TV show will return to the small screen for a season before a film goes into the works next year, said creator Mitch Hurwitz.
Star Jason Bateman confirmed the news via Twitter today: “It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!”
The cult series ran for three seasons, and was last seen in 2006 in the US. All of the stars of the show – including Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jessica Walter – have enjoyed varying levels of cult and big-screen success in the following years, particularly Bateman and Cera, who have gone from strength to strength.
