Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit Production Diaries: Part 4

The Hobbit - Peter Jackson

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Poster LogoThe fourth production diary from Peter Jackson’s forthcoming The Hobbit: An Unxpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

This latest chapter is all about shooting in 3D, and in particular shooting at 48 frames per second. Long time RED Camera advocate Jackson uses the RED Epic 3D cameras, dozens of them in fact, none of which we can see the results of in this video.

However, there is plenty of behind the scenes footage, cast and crew interviews and some fascinating information on shooting in 3D. We’ve also included a screen-grab of the 3D concept art, amazingly drawn in red and blue pencil, which actually works in 3D if you have red-blue glasses handy. Check it out below!
