Several sources are reporting that with special advance screening on 14 December 2011, Australia becomes the first country in the world to see the latest action blockbuster Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. With previews at VMAX Event Cinemas, VMAX Village, IMAX, Hoyts IMAX, and Titan Screens at Reading Cinemas. With the film already being released a week ahead of the US, this makes up for all those other movies we’ve received months behind.
We saw a preview of some of the IMAX footage a few months ago, and we can say that the massive screens are the only place to see this spectacular footage. We will also be catching a full preview of the film very soon, but we’ll be embargoed from letting you know any more until a little later than that.
IMAX in Darling Harbour, Sydney will be one of a select group of IMAX theatres around the world to show the 6 minute prologue of The Dark Knight Rises in full screen IMAX prior to each screening of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is due for wide release in Australia on 15 December 2011 from Paramount. It will be released in IMAX in the US on 16 December, with a wide US release on 21 December 2011.
