One of the most (over)hyped trailers of the year is finally here. The first teaser trailer for the new Alien film…erm…sorry, the new unrelated to Alien in any way film Prometheus has been released via iTunes Trailers.
According to the source: Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
So now that the cat is out of the bag, and it seems that this has Alien DNA right down to its lettering, how much do we all think this is connected to the first Alien film? Scott has been recently denying that it is a prequel, but there’s definitely something that looks like a Space Jockey and all of the iconography screams 1979. Either way, we can’t wait for the full trailer. Oh, and of course the film itself, the natural progression from a trailer.
Prometheus opens in 3D on 8 June 2012 from Fox.
