In an interview with MTV (via ComingSoon.Net), Jaimie Alexander has revealed that her warrior character of Sif from Thor will also appear in Thor 2.
When asked what direction she thought the character was heading, she remained unsure. “I’m a comic book nerd at heart, so I’d like to see the relationship between Thor and Sif progress. Whether or not they do that, we’re not sure yet. We’ll see. I think that element will be in there, but I don’t know how much.” This is hardly surprising given that it was only announced yesterday that Saving Private Ryan scribe Robert Rodat has been hired to rewrite Don Payne’s draft.
The character of Sif, who was downplayed in the first film, has been significant in the Marvel Comics source material, as both a fearsome warrior and Thor’s lover.
As for a cameo in The Avengers, “Sometimes you never know. It’ll be funny – they’ll call you and they’ll do a post-credits scene and you go, ‘Oh, so everything I said in interviews is completely wrong.’ So you never know!”
Thor 2 is set to begin filming in London this summer. We also interviewed Jaimie Alexander last year around the world premiere of Thor in Australia in April last year, and we’ve included that interview below.
Thor 2 is due to hit cinemas on 15 November 2013 from Disney.
