After months of speculation, and countless awards ceremonies, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 84th Annual Academy Awards this morning.
There weren’t too many major surprises from the list of nominees, with Hugo leading the pack with 11 nominations and The Artist following with a whopping 10 nominations. A total of 9 films were selected for Best Picture, with 9/11 film Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close proving to be a big of a dark horse on the night.
84th Academy Awards Ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on 27 February 2012.
