The Screen Actors Guild presented its Actor® statuettes to the winners for outstanding motion picture and primetime television performances of 2011.
In a completely unsurprising set of results, it was Jean Dujardin who took out the coveted award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for The Artist, but The Help‘s Viola Davis beat out favourite Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Tilda Swinton and Michelle Williams to win Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
Meanwhile, it was The Help that took out Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and Boardwalk Empire and Modern Family did the same for the dramatic and comedy categories on the small screen.
