Roadshow Films have sent over the full trailer for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows. This may be the proof positive we needed that Burton has finally disappeared up his own posterior and is doing mushrooms through a straw. Whatever you think of the trailer, it is better than anything that’s in that poster.
In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from England to start a new life in America. Two decades later Barnabas is the master of Collinwood Manor — rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard, who dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries pass before Barnabas is freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin and the dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets.
Dark Shadows stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloë Grace Moretz, Gulliver McGrath and Australia’s Bella Heathcote.
Dark Shadows will be released in Australia on 10 May 2012 from Roadshow Films.
