With all the announcements and new photos of the new companion Jenna-Louise Coleman, it might be easy to forget that there is a seventh season of Doctor Who due out this year, and it’s going to be a big one. Now the BBC has given us the first preview trailer of the new season, and it’s a corker.
Steven Moffat is again lead writer and Executive Producer for the series, and he is joined by Executive Producer Caroline Skinner who co-executive produced The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe, last year’s Christmas Special. The series will feature the return of Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), and of course, Matt Smith as The Doctor.
At some stage during the series, the companions will leave and ultimately be replaced by the as yet unnamed character to be played by Coleman.
The BBC also confirms that that Moffat will be penning the first story of Series 7, and that Toby Whithouse (“School Reunion”, “Vampires of Venice”) and Chris Chibnall (“42”, “The Hungry Earth”/”Cold Blood”) will also be writing episodes.
I am so looking forward to the new series.
