The Reel Bits Travels: Goofy and The Art of Vacationing

Goofy Travels - The Art of Vacationing

If you follow us on Twitter, or receive our newsletter, then you will know that we head off to Europe today. We’ll be heading to Paris first, followed by Barcelona and ultimately London, where we’ll bring you coverage of the Sundance London Film Festival. So what does this mean to you, dear readers?

The Reel Bits will still be operating during this time, just don’t expect the characteristic flood of information assaulting your senses. Some of the new releases may have to wait until we return, but David McVay and Josh Philpott will still be covering all the big ones at the Film Actually Podcast. We pre-recorded all of the Behind the Panels episodes before we left, so expect those as scheduled. We’ll be back with regular coverage in early May.

To celebrate our travels, Disney Parks seems to have read our minds and released a new video this week. Regular readers will know that we love Disney animation, and in particular the old Goofy ‘How to’ shorts from the 1940s and 1950s. Their latest may be promotional in nature, aimed squarely at attracting audiences to the Disney Parks (which we will be doing in a few weeks when we visit Disneyland Paris), but The Art of Vacationing is a perfect live-action recreation of those shorts.

Enjoy, and we’ll see you on the other side!
