Variety reports that actor Guy Pearce is in final talks to join Marvel Studios and Disney’s Iron Man 3 as the geneticist Aldrich Killian.
As we already know that the third film will be based on Warren Ellis’ Extremis. The plot will allegedly involve the spread of a virus through nanotechnology. The character of Killian creates the nanotech that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) uses as Iron Man.
Iron Man 3 will be directed by Shane Black, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Scarlett Johansson and that Sir Ben Kingsley is up for an unspecified role.
Iron Man 3 being scheduled for 3 May 2013. Production is expected to take place in May 2012 in North Carolina and begin location filming in China in summer 2012.
