Robert Rodriguez is a man who doesn’t sleep very often, if his prolific output is any indication, and he’s got two new films on the boil. These are Machete Kills, the sequel to his own Machete, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. To get everybody excited, two simple teaser posters have been released (via The Playlist) for these future cult classics.
We’ve covered both of these before, and indeed Machete Kills had a sales art poster out back in February. The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is the follow-up to the shockingly original Sin City, based on the comics by Frank Miller. Previous reports have indicated that the film will be based on original stories “A Dame To Kill For,” “Just Another Saturday Night” and a new one written by Miller called “The Long, Bad Night”. Most of the original cast should be able to return, if willing, including Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Devon Aoki, Michael Clarke Duncan, Clive Owen and Jessica Alba
Seriously? He’s still planning to do another Sin City? Even though, by doing The Big Fat Kill ahead of A Dame to Kill For, he spoiled that story’s best surprise?
Even though the last film came out seven years ago?
Geeze.
