The Weinstein Company and TheMasterFilm.com released a first glimpse today of Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film, The Master starring the Award-worthy cast of Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Dern.
It’s been five years since PTA’s last film, the magnificent There Will Be Blood, and details have been slight on this latest project. A 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man.
The film currently has a release date of 12 October 2012 in the US.
