Following his light ensemble comedy Tamara Drewe, director Stephen Frears returns this year with Lay the Favourite, another comedy based on the memoir by Beth Raymer.
The trailer (embedded in the player below) has been exclusively revealed by Handbag.com (via Coming Soon), whi describe the film: “Lay the Favourite follows ex-private dancer Beth Raymer (played by Rebecca Hall) as she travels to Las Vegas to pursue her dreams of becoming a cocktail waitress. Fate leads her to Dink, (Bruce Willis) a charming old-school gambler, who recruits Beth as his good luck charm – much to the annoyance of his uptight wife Tulip (Catherine Zeta Jones). A couple of losing streaks, unrequited love and a messy marriage later and let’s just say things aren’t going well for Beth!”
Lay the Favourite is released in the UK on 22 June 2012
