Hold onto your lariats! In the announcement that the long-gestating Justice League was getting a writer yesterday, another little nugget of information slipped out. Green Lantern scribe Michael Goldenberg is apparently working on a script for Wonder Woman, says Variety.
Wonder Woman, the Amazon warrior princess created in 1941, has made numerous appearances in the past, including everything from an animated spot on The Brady Kids to her own television show in the 1970s. That series starred Linda Carter, and arguably solidified the character in the popular eye. Last year, David E. Kelley created a Wonder Woman pilot for NBC, starring Adrianne Palicki as the princess, but the pilot was not picked up for a series.
This move brings us one step closer to a DC Cinematic Universe, although no other news, casting or talent seems to be officially attached at this stage. We won’t express any worry at all that this is now in the hands of one of the people who managed to get Green Lantern so wrong. None.
