EW reports that actor Josh Dallas won’t be back to play his part as one of the Warriors Three in Thor 2, due to conflicts with his ABC television series Once Upon a Time.
There is no word on who will be replacing him, although Heat Vision has early reports that Zachary Levi is set to step in. Jaimie Alexander has previously confirmed she will be in the film, and director Alan Taylor plans to look deeper into Asgard.
“I’ll be missing out on wearing all that hair,” Dallas told EW, laughing. “The timing wasn’t right. I’m bummed about it because I had such a great experience and great time making the first film and was really excited about coming back. Marvel and Disney tried to make it work. But because of my commitment to Once Upon a Time, I was not going to be able to do both. So I’ll have to hand the reins over to someone else. I love Marvel. I wish them all the best. I will certainly be first in line to see it”.
In the original Thor, he was a member of the Warriors Three, a trio of Asgardian adventurers consisting of Fandral, Hogun the Grim (Tadanobu Asano), and Volstagg the Valiant (Ray Stevenson). They were joined by Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander)
Thor 2 is released on 8 November 2013 from Disney. It was recently moved forward from 15 November.
