It was back in March that Jenna-Louise Coleman was announced as the new companion on the long-running BBC series, Doctor Who. Not long after, we saw an official photo of her looking startlingly similar to current companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan), perhaps hoping to ease fans with the transition. Now, thanks to the official Doctor Who blog, we can catch a glimpse of her being cheeky with The Doctor (Matt Smith).
We already knew that Series 7 of the show would be a set of 14 blockbuster-style episodes, and that Coleman will make her debut in the 2012 Christmas Special. Amy Pond will leave in episode 5 of the upcoming series. This is all in the lead-up to the 50th anniversary of the series.
According to Smith, “It [filming on the new series] is going well. Jenna brings a really different energy to the show – one which I think is very interesting”.
Doctor Who – Series 7 is set to debut in the UK in autumn 2012, and will continue its series of big episodes throughout 2013.
