Voting is now open in YouTube’s Your Film Festival, and The Reel Bits has a special appeal. We want to help get Paul Johannessen and our good friend Ivan Kovac to the Venice International Film Festival with their emotional and beautifully shot short documentary film on the 2011 Japanese tsunami, Then and Now.
Survivors of the tsunami that hit Japan face an unprecedented challenge to rebuild their lives and communities. In Ishinomaki, locals share their stories of survival and their determination to now make the best out of an incredibly difficult situation.
Watch the video below, and head to Your Film Festival to vote. Remember: voting is open until July 13 and you can vote once a day, and we’d really appreciate the support.
