Heat Vision has exclusively dropped the news that Edgar Wright has gone and quietly shot some test footage for Ant-Man.
According to the trade, “in mid-June, he spent just under a week shooting footage for a reel that will be used to test out the potential look and tone of his movie, as well as to decide how convincing Ant-man’s powers look on screen”.
However, as The World’s End – which begins shooting later this year – will be Wright’s next film, re-teaming him with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Don’t expect Ant-Man anytime soon then, although the scheduling doesn’t preclude it from being the second 2014 release for Marvel either.
Guardians of the Galaxy for 2014?
The May 2014 Marvel film has been hotly debated, with everything from Black Panther to Guardians of the Galaxy mooted for the next film following April 2014’s Captain America 2. Latino Review is now saying with certainty that it will be Guaradians of the Galaxy, and that it will be announced at San Diego Comic Con in July.
The usually reliable source adds that Thanos will be in the film, the script is incredible and it will be part of the lead-up to The Avengers 2 in 2015. Marvel has certainly been hinting at something big for the Guardians of the Galaxy for some time, and the inclusion of Thanos at the end-credits of The Avengers certainly left the door open. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has made no secrets about his desire to see this project come to life.
If all of this holds true, it’s time to start geeking out at the top of our lungs. Marvel: nobody does it better.
