The pilot episode of Arrow is only a few weeks away from its 10 October debut on CW in the US, and now a clip has been released from the episode. It’s the first extended sequence of its kind for the pilot, which is directed by veteran David Nutter and written by Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, based on a story by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.
The clip seems to be one of the first reveals of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in full character mode as Arrow (or as we will always know him, Green Arrow). It’s only a few shades away from someone yelling “Who are you?” and Bruce Wayne dropping in from the ceiling. The superhero world is much darker in the wake of Christopher Nolan.
The promising premise hasn’t looked quite as good in the last few clips, so perhaps it’s best to wait a few weeks and judge this in its context.
Yeah, pretty ‘meh’. Never been impressed with Green Arrow (with the exception of the Justice League animated series). Always saw him as a second-rate Batman, which is glaringly obvious in the current comic-book run. Question: How can they get this uninspiring tosh off the ground but not Wonder Woman?
While I’ve been a massive Green Arrow fan for many years, the current run is shockingly bad. More so, it seem to be pandering to the perceived audience for this new show which is taking some liberties even with that concept. Guess we’ll know in a few weeks!
