“Nothing’s been the same since New York…”
The same could be said for the Marvel Cinematic Universe since this year’s $1.5 billion box-office blockbuster The Avengers. After a massive campaign of teasing over the last few days, Marvel Studios and Disney have delivered the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Iron Man 3.
The trailer continues the dark theme of the previews, showing a Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) threatened with losing everything, and at a loose end after his fight alongside The Avengers. We get a look at Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin, as well as a brief look at Killen (Guy Pierce). There’s also a fair bit of Tony and Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) running from their waterfront property being blown up, and a teasing final shot of Stark sans armour walking through the snow. It looks like it will deliver on the promise of the synopsis of a Stark “left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him.”
Iron Man 3 is released in Australia on 25 April 2013 from Disney.
