After releasing a poster earlier in the week, Disney has released the first teaser trailer for MOANA, their next CG animated film to arrive in theatres. It is due to hit the US on 23 November, and on Australian cinemas on 26 December 2016.
Featuring the voices of Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, MOANA comes from The Little Mermaid and Aladdin team of Ron Clements and Jim Musker. It’s the first CG foray for the team, who were responsible for the revival of 2D animation at the studio with The Princess and the Frog in 2010. It follows the titular Moana (Cravalho), an adventurous teen who is aided by Maui (Johnson) in sailing the world and becoming a master wayfinder. It also features songs from Hamilton creator/star Lin-Manuel Miranda, so this has blockbuster written all over it.
