Variety reports that the character of Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin of Chicago P.D. fame) will return in ARROW Season 5, following her attempts to be Black Canary in in the fourth season episode “Canary Cry.” According to the source, she will make her own identity as Artemis, although in this case her “own identity” is that of an established DC universe character and another archer.
Artemis was originally the daughter of Tigress and the unfortunately named Sportsmaster in the comics, but is perhaps best known in recent years as a character in the Young Justice animated series. She was portrayed as someone who was initially in the group as Green Arrow’s protégée, and then variously suspected of up-to-no-goodness. This element will definitely add a much-needed new dynamic to the fifth season of the show.
ARROW Season 5 will return to the CW in the US on Wednesday 5 October 2016, and on 6 October 2016 on Fox 8 in Australia. The full CW fall schedule can be seen here, including return dates for all their superhero shows.
