Despite the fact that Woody Allen’s Café Society hasn’t hit cinemas yet, Variety reports that he is already onto the casting phase of his next production. This is hardly surprising given the rate Allen produces films, averaging out at one a year since at least the early 1970s. Kate Winslet is set to star in the writer/director next film, a first-time collaboration.
Keeping with tradition, practically no details are available for the film yet. It is know that the film will shoot “in the fall.” Other than that, there is no news to the title or the premise, but that is usually the case with Allen’s releases. He will, of course, be writing, directing and producing. There’s a good chance there will be a white Windsor Light Condensed font over a black background for the title sequence. There’s a scoop for you.
Café Society, a period piece set in 1930s Holywood, opened the Cannes International Film Festival last month. It is released in the US on 15 July 2016 from Amazon Studios, and on 1 September 2016 from eOne Australia.
