Disney Animation has announced that Rich Moore and Phil Johnston will direct WRECK-IT RALPH 2. It hits cinemas on 9 March 2018 in the US from Disney, and on 22 March 2018 in Australia. The news came via a live feed this morning featuring the directors, and returning cast member John C. Reilly.
Moore was the co-director of Zootopia, along with the director of the original Wreck-It Ralph, and Johnston co-wrote the first film as well. “Ralph leaves the arcade and wrecks the Internet,” was Reilly’s pithy summation of the sequel, although the video was most a series of hi-jinks between the directors and their star.
Teaser artwork was also released alongside the announcement, feauturing the presumptive return of Sarah Silverman as (Princess) Vanellope von Schweetz, alongside parodies of Google, Amazon and other major websites. All we can add to this news is our own excitement for the project.
