Coming straight from the Marvel Studios Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige and co have released the first details about the upcoming CAPTAIN MARVEL film.
The most surprising news was that the film will be set in the early 1990s, a distinct departure from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a result, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is also slated to appear with no less than TWO eyes due to the timeframe.
The biggest announcement for the plotting is that the Skrulls will be the villains. Only mentioned until now in the films and spin-off television shows, concept art was shown at SDCC that is said to be close to the original comic book designs. (See below).
The story of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) will be written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman. Boden and Fleck have previously worked together on Sugar, It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Half Nelson. The film will make its cinematic debut in March 2019 in the US.
A tweet of the concept art can be seen below.
