Call for entries: Uni Life Film Festival supports Australian student filmmakers

Filming creative video footage with professional video camera during the night

We all know it’s difficult to get funding for a film, especially if you’re a student. Creativa, a video production and animation studio in Melbourne, has launched a the Uni Life Film Festival to support budding filmmakers, videographers, and all creative types in video production endeavors.

Uni Life is national film festival which aims to showcase the vast and varied stories of Australian universities and their students. From different backgrounds and distant lands, such multiculturalism always breeds a wealth of interesting and unheard tales both large and small.

“We work with a lot of young talent from universities in Melbourne,” Creativa said in a press release. “We thought this festival would be a great opportunity to find fresh film talent and give back to the community.” In this case, that means a $500 prize for the winner, including exposure on their social media channels.

The theme for entries is “the journey”: what you are going through, what it means to you and why it’s important. So whether it’s cooking cup noodles in your student accommodation, or trying to find somewhere to sit/sleep/eat said cup noodles in a uni library, then this might be a place to share your story.

You can learn more about the festival, including the guidelines for entry, here: http://creativa.com.au/uni-life-film-festival/ . The chosen film will be awarded $500 and the deadline is September 1st, 2017.
