At last week’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios unveiled some of the concept art and plot details for the upcoming CAPTAIN MARVEL film. Now concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has taken to Instagram to show off the designs for the Skrulls as seen on those panels last week.
“Honored to find out this morning that my…designs were shown by the at [Comic-Con],” he said in the caption. “At first I was afraid that the artwork got leaked and I was a bit panicked, but fortunately it was done on purpose…I did these designs while working in house…on [CAPTAIN MARVEL] for the very talented @andyparkart You should all check out his Captain Marvel design. It was also released and is amazing!”
The film will be set in the 1990s, marking the first cinematic appearance of the Skrulls. Many have surmised that this means the introduction of the Secret Invasion storyline from the Marvel Comics.
The story of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) will be written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman. Boden and Fleck have previously worked together on Sugar, Itβs Kind of a Funny Story and Half Nelson. The film will make its cinematic debut in March 2019 in the US.
