Deadline has reported that Geneva Robertson-Dworet will now be writing the screenplay for CAPTAIN MARVEL, the forthcoming Marvel Studios film from directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind).
The film was originally being penned by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman, but LeFauve departed due to her commitments on the Disney animated film Gigantic.
Robertson-Dworet has not had any produced screenplays make it to the screen just yet, but her credits include the upcoming Tomb Raider, the DC film Gotham City Sirens, and several other major franchises.
Details of the film so far have been slim, except for the SDCC announcements that it will be set in the 1990s, co-star Samuel L. Jackson, and feature the alien villains the Skrulls.
