Netflix has announced that the dramatic series OZARK, starring and directed by Jason Bateman, will return for a second series of 10 episodes. No date has been announced, but we can assume this is set for 2018.
The show follows financial planner Marty Byrde (Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) , who move their family from the Chicago suburbs to the Missouri Ozarks after getting mixed up with some bad cartel hombres. Forced to launder millions of dollars through the shoreline business, he finds isn’t the only game in town, and literally everybody comes with an agenda. As one lie begets the next, Marty watches his carefully controlled life spin out of control.
In our review for the first season, we praised the “magnificent cast and a slow-boiling tension that will keep you in binge mode.” It’s a positive step for the streaming giant, forging new ongoing series in the wake of cancellations such as Bloodline, Sense8 and The Get Down.
The series is produced by Bateman’s Aggregate Films in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix, and was created by Dubuque and Williams.
