We already knew Taika Waititi’s take on Thor was going to be strange, but we didn’t know just how much so until the Japanese trailer for THOR: RAGNAROK was released. Featuring a prominent cameo from Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme, you can check it out below.
The character was last seen in the 2016 film Doctor Strange, which also featured a mid-credits sequence in which Strange decides to help Thor, who has brought his brother Loki to Earth to search for their missing father Odin. So it would seem that this scene leads directly into the events of the film.
The 17th feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its launch in 2008, it stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins. Filmed locally, it will release in Australia on 26 October 2017 from Disney, before being unleashed on the US on 2 November.
