Madman has announced that MARY AND THE WITCH’S FLOWER, Studio Ponoc’s debut film, will make its Australian debut at the Madman Anime Festival, Melbourne on 3-4 November.
The Australian premiere of MARY AND THE WITCH’S FLOWER (メアリと魔女の花) will take place in the AnimeLab Arena at Madman Anime Festival Melbourne on Sunday 5 November 2017 and will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles.
Studio Ponoc consists of former Studio Ghibli filmmakers Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Yoshiaki Nishimura. Their adaptation of the novel The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart marks their first feature with their new outfit. The film grossed ¥428 million during its opening weekend in Japan.
Tickets are on sale now, and the film is open to the general public, not just attendees of the Madman Anime Festival. MadFest VIP pass holders will have their FREE ticket to the premiere in their VIP show bag.
