New US red band trailer for ‘Blade of the Immortal’

Blade of the Immortal

Brave yourselves. Takashi Miike’s 100th film, BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL (無限の住人), had a bloody new trailer. It is hitting US cinemas in November (from Magnolia Pictures & Magnet Releasing), and is out in Australia on 16 November 2017 from Icon Film Distribution.

Adapted from the long-running manga series by Hiroaki Samura, it follows Manji (Takuya Kimura), a skilled samurai cursed with immortality after one of the most epic opening battles in cinema history. Following the death of his own sister, Manji is recruited by Rin (Hana Sugisaki) to take revenge against a band of renegade swordsmen. So begins an almost endless series of fights, presented in all of their limb-lopping and artery opening glory.

Following screenings at the Sydney Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival, the rest of the country will get a chance to see the bodies fly. Of course, the prolific Miike hasn’t stopped there, with his 101st film JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable already out in Japanese cinemas.
