Disney’s most unexpected sequel, RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2, has unleashed a teaser trailer and fun poster onto the Intertubes. It is due to hit US cinemas this Thanksgiving. Australia will have to wait a little longer, with the film not due out here until 28 December 2018.
The basic plot sees arcade game characters Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) getting lost inside the Internet. Once inside, the teaser trailer shows them encountering physical manifestations of memes, pop-up ads, and websites. Isn’t that The Emoji Movie?
The teaser has a decidedly odd tone to it, featuring a typically sanisted version of the web. When Futurama went into the Internet, they were constantly confronted with porn. It’s hard to imagine that a 2018 version of Ralph wouldn’t accidentally wander in a tumblr account that featured some kind of slashfic about him and Fix-It Felix. If that doesn’t exist, it will by the time ‘publish’ is hit on this article.
We guess pop will eventually eat itself like a bunny eating too many pancakes. If you watch the trailer below, you’ll know exactly how that turns out.
