CJ Entertainment has released the English-subtitled trailer for SEVEN YEARS OF NIGHT (7년의 밤), the latest mystery thriller from director Choo Chang-min (Masquerade). It hits South Korean cinemas on 28 March 2018. You can check it out below.
Based on the novel “7Nyeonui Bam” by Jung Yoo-Jung, it follows Seo-Won (Ko Gyung-Pyo), who’s drunken father Hyun-Soo (c) killed a young girl while driving seven year ago. The girl’s father Young-Je (Jang Dong-Gun) begins to plan his revenge. If there’s one thing that Korean cinema has taught us, then it’s not to cross a father looking for revenge.
The film began shooting back in November 2015 and finished shooting in May 2016. This partly explains Choo Chang-min’s 6 year absence from cinema screens since 2012’s Masquerade.
Given that CJ Entertainment has gone to the trouble of subtitling this, and were behind the recently international release of Golden Slumber and 1987: When the Day Comes, we should be expecting a local release date for this soon.
