Some of the supporting cast have been announced for the BLEACH live action film thanks to photos posted on the official site. It is directed by Shinsuke Sato, and based on the manga and anime of the same name.
Ryo Yoshizawa, Taichi Saotome and Miyavi will join Sota Fukushi (playing the lead Ichigo Kurosaki) and Hana Sugisaki (as Rukia Kuchiki).
In the first live action film for the franchise, Ryo Yoshizawa is set to play school student Uryu Ishida. Taichi Saotome and Miyavi will play Soul Reapers Renji Abarai and Byakuya Kuchiki respectively.
The Bleach manga ran weekly between 2001 and 2016, and was collected into 74 volumes. The anime adaptation ran for 366 episodes over 14 seasons between 2004 and 2012, with four subsequent animated film spin-offs.
BLEACH is set for release in Japan on 20 July 2018. There is no current word on the international release. However, the live action versions of Tokyo Ghoul, Gintama and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures have made it to Australian shores in the last year, so fingers crossed!
