Here’s something fun to go with a weekend of choccy eggs and lazy afternoons. After a brief theatrical run this month, Shane Jacobson’s comedy THAT’S NOT MY DOG! hits Australian streaming network Stan over the Easter long weekend. Directed by by Dean Murphy (Charlie & Boots, Hanging with Hoges), it premieres on Easter Saturday 31 March 2018.
The cast is filled with a who’s who of local comedians, including Paul Hogan, Jimeoin, Steve Vizard, Michala Banas, Fiona O’Loughlin, Tim Ferguson, Lehmo, Ed Kavalee, Marty Fields, Christie Whelan Browne, Ron Jacobson and Genevieve Morris.
The film centres around the loveable Shane Jacobson (playing himself) who is throwing a party. Invited are the funniest people Shane knows comprising of Australia’s biggest stars along with several Australian music legends playing their biggest hits live, right throughout the party. The invite that Jacobson sends out is clear: Don’t bring meat. We’ll provide the beer. Just come armed with nothing but the funniest jokes you’ve ever heard. Shane will take care of the rest. It’ll be a night of great friends telling the world’s funniest jokes over a beer and BBQ.
For Stan, this is one of several local productions debuting on the streaming channel this year, arriving ahead of Stan Original film The Second. Earlier in the year, the Romper Stomper series also came to Stan, while original series No Activity has recently received a US remake from Will Ferrell’s production company.
Jacobson has also been quite busy this year, with his comedy The BBQ releasing in Australian cinemas last month.
