Lotte Entertainment has revealed the first teaser poster for ALONG WITH THE GODS: THE LAST 49 DAYS (신과함께-인과 연), the sequel to last year’s Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds.
Based on the webcomic series by Joo Ho-Min, it follows fireman Ja-hong (Cha Tae-hyun) from the moment of his dramatic death. Having saved a girl by leaping from a burning building, he is seen as a Paragan as he’s escorted into the afterlife by reaper Gang-rim (Ha Jung-woo).
Structured as a series of trials facing 7 gods in 49 days, here we see the three angels of death about to take part in the trial of Soo-Hong (Kim Dong-Wook) and meet God of House (the charismatic Ma Dong-Seok), as teased at the end of part one.
The first entry followed Kim Han-min’s The Admiral: Roaring Currents as the most viewed South Korea film on home territory, and the sequel undoubtedly hopes to break that record. we’ll find out when it hits South Korean cinemas on 1 August 2018.
Australian audiences won’t have long to wait either: there’s a 2 August release date planned for selected cinemas around Australia and New Zealand.
