The reason we post them here is a shameless attempt to boost our Google rankings, and get a casual audience who wouldn’t normally be interesting in our humble little site.

New Sneak Peek at Snow White and the Hunstman

Snow White and the Huntsman poster - Kristen StewartIn all of the publicity for the competing Snow White films, we never imagined that the one starring Kristen Stewart would be the one that emerged looking kind of awesome. Via Universal Pictures Facebook page for the film, a new sneak peek has emerged that proves this version may be the fairest of them all.

Synopsis: In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Hunstman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar®winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her.  But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris HemsworthThor) who was dispatched to kill her.  Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

  • Kristen Stewart offered Akira role

    Kristen Stewart offered Akira role

Akira - Japanese movie posterTwitch reports that Twilight star Kristen Stewart has been offered the leading female role of Kei in the live action remake of Akira.

Stewart would join director Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown), and the cast that is said to include Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy), Gary Oldman as the Colonel and unknown roles for Helena Bonham-Carter and Keira Knightly. It beats Keanu Reeves, right? Right?

Akira is a story set against the dystopian future of Neo-Tokyo, where biker Tetsuo Shima’s emerging psychic powers threaten to release Akira, and he must be stopped by fellow biker Shotaro Kaneda.

The 1988 anime film was adapted from a 2182-page manga story, and was significantly altered and cut-down to make the feature length film we all know and love today. It is uncertain what path any live-action adaptation will take.

If you hear a long mournful sigh after reading this story, and its not you, look in our direction as we re-watch Katsuhiro Otomo’s classic film.

  • New trailer and posters for Snow White and the Huntsman

New trailer and posters for Snow White and the Huntsman

Following the epic banner released earlier this week, Universal has now released (via iTunes Trailers) a brand new teaser trailer and four character posters for Snow White and the Huntsman.

It looks sufficiently dark enough, but then again so did Red Riding Hood. Well take the all-musical Disney version any day, but it will be nice to see this updated with some cool special effects. Of course, it isn’t enough to just have Snow White as simply “the fairest of them all”, as she now has to be a cool, tough warrior chick. Empower that demographic! We still say Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror is a few steps ahead on this one.

Snow White and the Huntsman will be released on 21 June 2012 in Australia from Universal.

  • New Snow White and the Huntsman banner

New Snow White and the Huntsman banner

Universal has released an epic banner for next year’s Snow White and the Hunstman, the darker of the two competing Snow White films to be released next year.

Not to be confused with Tarsem Singh’s Mirror MirrorSnow White and the Hunstman is the other Snow White film, and thanks to the presence of Kristen Stewart, undoubtedly the bigger of the two. Interestingly enough, both Snow White films star women who have worked opposite Twilight stars, with Abductions Lily Collins the fairest of them all in the “other” version.

The official press reads as follows: In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Hunstman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar®winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her.

Snow White and the Huntsman will be released on 26 December 2012 in Australia from Universal.
