Stunning Prometheus Poster from Hopko Designs

Our good friends at Hopko Designs have sent us their latest creation, a poster for Ridley’s Scott epic sci-fi film Prometheus.

Scott Hopko let us know that he “can’t stop thinking about the movie”, and seems to have been inspired by the religious aspects of the film. While they aren’t overt in Damon Lindeloff’s script, Scott and other members of the cast have certainly been referencing that in recent interviews. Casting Noomi Rapace as Mary, with the whole world literally in her hands, speaks volumes about some of the themes that people will be discussing about this film for some time to come.

First Official 007 Skyfall Poster Revealed

007.com has released the first official poster for James Bond’s 23rd adventure, Skyfall.

Nothing says 007 like staring down the barrel of a gun, and that’s exactly what this teaser poster has gone for. The classic and stylish poster perhaps signals a return to the simple elegance of the earlier Bond films, before gadgetry made one-upmanship turned the franchise into something else entirely.

  • Ferrell Vs. Galifianakis in Trailer and Poster for The Campaign

Ferrell Vs. Galifianakis in Trailer and Poster for The Campaign

It’s certainly an election year in the US, just not the one you are thinking of. Warner Bros. Pictures (via iTunes Trailers) has released a trailer for Jay Roach’s new comedy with Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. It’s familiar turf, but a welcome return nonetheless.

When long-term congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) commits a major public gaffe before an upcoming election, a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. Their man: naive Marty Huggins (Zach Galifianakis), director of the local Tourism Center. At first, Marty appears to be the unlikeliest possible choice but, with the help of his new benefactors’ support, a cutthroat campaign manager and his family’s political connections, he soon becomes a contender who gives the charismatic Cam plenty to worry about.

The Campaign is released in Australia on 9 August 2012 from Roadshow Films, and in the US on 10 August 2012.

New Teaser Poster for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Finally an indicator that Django Unchained is more than just a really long cast list, Yahoo! Movies has unveiled the first teaser poster for Quentin Tarantino’s latest.

Tipping his hat to the Spaghetti Western films that he will rip off have influenced him, the poster uses Italian text at the bottom: “La Nueva Pelicula De Quentin Tarantino” (“The New Movie From Quentin Tarantino”). And, below that: “Proximamente” (“Coming Soon”).

Tackling the subject of slavery, Jaime Foxx will play the titular Django, who under the care of German bounty hunter (who else but Christoph Waltz?) becomes a bounty hunter himself, determined to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from an evil plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). It also stars pretty much everybody who has ever had a meeting with Mr. Tarantino.

Django Unchained will be released in Australia on 24 January 2013.

  • Jacen Burrows Poster for Intruders, More Crossed with Garth Ennis

Jacen Burrows Poster for Intruders, More Crossed with Garth Ennis

Bloody Disgusting has revealed a new poster for Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s Intruders, starring Clive Owen. The film is officially described as a horror/thriller centered on the origin of the monsters that are born in childhood and are passed on by the family.

This new poster is from comic book artist Jacen Burrows, who has worked with the likes of Alan Moore, Brian Michael Bendis, Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis. This certainly beats the pants off the first poster for Intruders, which was a bad PhotoShop of Clive Owen’s mouth removed. That earlier poster was a contender for the worst of the year, and this new one slides nicely into candidacy for the “best”.

In related news, Burrows has recently re-teamed with Garth Ennis on Crossed, the series they created together, with a follow-up series called Crossed: Badlands from Avatar Press. In stores today, the book follows Ian, who roams the Scottish Highlands with a small band of survivors, avoiding roving Crossed berserkers and wrestling with the memories of his wife’s tragic death.
