To celebrate the release of 13 Assassins, at the movies September 8, together with Icon Film Distribution, The Reel Bits offered you the chance to win one of 5 double passes to the samurai epic. Now that we’ve blown up all the cattle, the only thing left to do is announce the winners.
Cult director Takashi Miike (Ichi the Killer, Audition), credited with over 80 films since making his directorial debut in the early 1990s, delivers a bravado period action film set at the end of Japan’s feudal era in which a group of unemployed samurai are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a war torn future. The film is a remake of Eichi Kudo’s 1963 black-and-white movie of the same name, Jûsan-nin no shikaku.
