The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today announced the nominees for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, one of the largest announcements to be made prior to the 84th Academy Awards.
The Artist, unsurprisingly given its virtual clean-sweep of earlier awards and nominations, leads the nominations with 6, and The Descendants and The Help followed closely on 5 nominations a piece.
Not too many upsets, except for the patchy Best Motion Picture – Drama category, but our biggest disappointment was in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture slot. Nothing for Brett McKenzie or The Muppets? Gnomeo & Juliet – seriously?
The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on 15 January 2012.
