MSN UK has revealed the trailer for Anna Karenina, a lavish adaptation of the Leo Tolstoy classic that reunites actress Keira Knightley with Atonement and Pride and Prejudice director Joe Wright. Is it simply because Knightley doesn’t like wearing contemporary clothing?
Set in late-19th-century Russia high-society, aristocrat Anna Karenina (Knightley) enters into a life-changing affair with the affluent Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson). It also stars Jude Law, Emily Watson, Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen and Olivia Williams with a screenplay by Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love). This has Oscar written all over it.
Anna Karenina is set for a US release on 5 November 2012, and will be released in Australia on 17 January 2013 from Universal.
