Roadshow Films and Good Dog Distribution have let the dogs out with a brand new trailer and poster for the highly anticipated RED DOG: TRUE BLUE. The prequel to the massively successful Australian film Red Dog, it curls up in our cinematic laps on Boxing Day (26 December) this year.
When eleven year old Mick (Levi Miller) is shipped off to his grandfather’s (Bryan Brown) cattle station in the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia, he prepares himself for a life of dull hardship, but instead finds myth, adventure, and a friendship with a scrappy, one-of-a-kind dog that will change his life forever. It also stars John Jarratt.
The first teaser was released back in June, and it introduced us to the new players in the story. This extended trailer gives us a bit more of an idea what to expect, along with the stunningly shot landscapes of the Australian outback. Red Dog took over $20 million at the Australian box office alone, won the inaugural AACTA Award for ‘Best Film’ in 2011 and is the highest selling Australian DVD of all time. So prepare your packets of tissues now, as this is sure to be a heartwarming and/or tear-jerking post-Christmas cracker.
What an awesome poster. Boxing Day sorted!!
