The BBC released the first teaser trailer for Doctor Who spin-off CLASS at the New York Comic-Con today. Confirmed to debut on 22 October in the US, the teaser largely features the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) narrating over teens running about hallways. It is a teaser, after all.
Charlie (Greg Austin), April (Sophie Hopkins), Ram (Fady Elsayed) and Tanya (Vivian Oparah), as well as their physics teacher Miss Quill (Katherine Kelly) are at the heart of things going wrong at Coal Hill School. The name will be familiar as the place Clara Oswald worked, but also as the setting of the very first Doctor Who episode in 1963.
This first teaser trailer, presumably taken from footage from the first two episodes “For Tonight We Might Die” and “The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo,” confirms more than a nominal presence of the Doctor in the pilot, giving this a strong connection to the main series from the start.
Australian viewers won’t have to wait long for this: the first two episodes will be fast-tracked from Britain for ABC iView on 22 October 2016 (23 October our time), and will be broadcast later on ABC2 on 24 October 2016.
