‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’: watch the first 13 minutes of Takeshi Miike’s film

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

It only opened in Japan, but the Japanese distributor has released the first 13 minutes of Takashi Miike’s wonderfully titled JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE CHAPTER 1 online.  It’s the 101st film for the legendary director, following the bloody Blade of the Immortal earlier this year.

Based on the manga series by Hirohiko Araki, the live action adaptation opened in Japan earlier this month to a reportedly disappointing result. It follows Josuke Higashikata (Kento Yamazaki), who possesses a Stand (super power) called Crazy Diamond that allows him to restore or fix broken objects or animals.

The clip doesn’t appear to have English subtitles, but you can get a sense of the visual style if you’re not fluent in Japanese. The folks over at Arama Japan have also sourced an additional 10 clips from the movie, so you can watch the readers digest version for yourself now!

There is no word yet on an Australian distribution for the film, but given the Japanese box office results, expect a swift arrival on home media.
